What Does Life Mean to You?

It's me again family, your cousin DJ Lex the Flex (iykyk).

So, today we're going to talk about life. Now the tagline for this blog is life, love, learn because these are the three main topics that I want to first write about and second share with you all. At the age we're in now, being 20-something and not really knowing where the trajectory of life may take us, it's easy to feel like living is meaningless. I saw a friend of mine make a post a while back basically saying that you were born to just work all your life, pay bills, and die. Has anyone felt like this before? While that's a sad outlook to have on life, it's even sadder that this will be the reality for a lot of people. It will be that way just because they THINK it will be that way.

Image result for kid winning 3rd place happyI often think about life and what it means to me. When I'm talking to someone new, one of my favorite questions to ask it, "What does your perfect life look like?" It's interesting to me what people value the most and what a perfect life would be to them. I'd like to think it tells you quite a lot about a person. Some people answer to be rich or wealthy. Others say they want to be happy with their future spouse raising a family. I always answer that I want peace and stability, something I didn't have a lot of when I was young. In all honesty, it wouldn't be too outrageous to want all those things and I think with the right tools you can have them.

That's what we're here to talk about today: living the life that you want and that is meaningful to you. Giving your life purpose can tremendously increase your quality of it. If you feel like a worker bee, working all your life just to die, then I'm sorry to tell you that's what you will become. But if you think about your life as a necessary part of the universe, created to cultivate light and change, then congratulations you have that too. I've said this in previous post and I'll probably say it in future posts as well, but life is all about perspective. How you view life and the events within it, will manifest into how it will be. This offers endless opportunity for positivity and growth because your mind is something you can control.

What you think is what you say and what you say is what will become.

The phrase above is something I try to live by because it is so powerful. Your mind and body are spiritual beings and have connections to the universe that you could not even begin to imagine. Me realizing that has helped me not only manifest postivity and peace into my life, but be able to make it through adversity and hardships. This life is really what you make it, so don't allow society or your own insecurities limit you.

After you read this, take some time to think about what life means to you and what you want your life to look like. Write it down and go forth like it has already happened, then watch how powerful you become. Give your life purpose: create, give back, have fun. Do what you want to do that makes you happy. Find what inspires you and your passions. Live in your truth, always. Being young, it can be hard, there are some things out of your control. But take control of those things that you can and put life in its place! You are an invaluable part of the universe and it's time you start acting like it.

Remember: wherever life plants you, bloom in grace.

Introduction: Welcome to my Life

Well hello there. If you're reading this that means you made it to my blog and for that I want to say thank you so much! It also means that you are now my family, so it's nice to see meet you cousin! So after months and months of thinking about starting a blog, I've finally done it and I'm glad you're here to witness it. But first, let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Alexis Gant. I'm 20 years old from Jacksonville, Florida and am currently a junior at Florida State University double majoring in criminology and interdisciplinary social sciences with a concentration in sociology and anthropology (sounds like a lot but it's really not). I am a mother to two beautiful girls, Heaven and Malia. I'm pretty much a loner even though I live for social interaction (probably cause I'm on some different wavelengths). I am passionate about education and the criminal justice system and hope to one day become a defense attorney. I believe in love and s...

Winter Arc 2024: The Mommy Mogul Rebrand

Welcome back to the blog cousins! First, I want to offer you a scripture, Romans 12:2 "Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." I have a saying, "Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your reality." Maybe it's not my saying, but it's something that I say and shares the sentiment of Romans 12:2. You can change your life by changing your thoughts. That brings me to the topic of today's blog post. Where am I writing from you ask, my JOB, which I hope to only have for a week longer. What I told you last time, the best thing a job can do for me is what? OKAY! Our completed habit tracker Today, I want to share a challenge that my twin best friends and I are embarking on together. We saw it on TikTok and immediately hopped on the idea. Titled The Winter Arc , the challenge required each of us to pick three pillars where we wanted to create different habits. We then had to identify thr...

The Message of Amos 9:13: Change is Here

Welcome back, family! I'm so glad to be back writing for y'all. Forgive me in advance, because I admit, I feel a bit all over the place and writing always helps me ground myself.  So, this morning, I was following my regular routine. Wake and garden (iykyk), scroll on social media, pack lunches, and start my day hopefully in a positive direction.  I don't know if I told y'all, but I've been tapping into my spiritual gifts more, one of which is clairaudience. Let's hold onto that for a bit. Back to my morning routine, which needs major revision, but I digress. As I'm scrolling, I keep seeing Amos 9:13. I mean KEEP seeing it, from Twitter to TikTok. I saw about 3 videos, made on different dates, with the same message: "It's going to happen faster than you thought." I won't need months or even weeks. The change in my life I'm seeking is happening now. It's been happening for months - probably years.  Now, I don't claim to be holier...
