Hello, again family.
Happy New Year to all! And it is Happy New Year and not New Years. Sorry just had to say it. As today is the first day of 2022, I thought what better way to bring it in than with a blog post (it's giving consistency). Today's post is just to give some words of encouragement as we begin this new year.
This year I challenge myself (and y'all) to dismantle any fears or limitations about success that we have placed on ourselves. To start the year off right I want to share some quotes with you that I have written in my notebook.
Before I do I want to give a little backstory on this notebook I've been mentioning.
I bought this notebook from Family Dollar in 2018. It cost me about $3, I think. On the front, there is a scripture printed. Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.
I've adopted these words as my solace when I'm feeling discouraged. Also, it serves to me as a reminder of the promise that God shares with me. He has plans for ME. That gives me purpose. I have something to work towards, discovering my purpose in his grand scheme of a plan. In these past 3+ years, I have used this notebook to write down how I felt, things I wanted to accomplish (my perfect life). I wrote out my business plan for my boutique, notes from different audiobooks and podcasts that I listened to over the years. Positive quotes I wanted to remember, gratitude lists, or even just words I came across that I didn't know with their definitions. This notebook has become a sort of manifestation of my thoughts. Since using this tool, I have become an advocate of writing down what you what to accomplish out of life. Something about bringing your abstract thought into the concrete realm by way of writing it on paper.
In the last blog post, I gave two examples of things that I had written down in this very book (circa 2019) and were able to accomplish in 2021. One was moving to Houston, which I actually wrote for 2022. The other was becoming a full-time educator, which I did do shortly after graduation. While these are just two examples of the things that I was able to manifest from the notebook, there are many more subtle things I've developed like waking up earlier, working on my attitude and outlook, working on my blog (wink, wink). There are also many more things to come from the notebook like doubling my income, paying off debts, improving my credit, etc. If nothing else my notebook serves as an changing testament of my journey and progress towards my personal goals and attaining my perfect life.
Here are some quotes/affirmations that I've written in my book these last few years:
- "You are free to choose, but the choices you make today will determine what you will have, be and do in the tomorrow of your life." - Zig Ziglan
- "What people think of you is none of your business."
- I am at peace with all that has happened, is happening, and will happen.
- "Fear is a hindrance!"
- I have a mindset set for magnification.
- "Your career is only limited by your imagination."
- "Get past the 'I can't'. Ask 'How can I?'"
- "There's someone out there waiting to hear your voice."
