My Introduction to Human Design

Welcome back again family! In today's post, I'll be sharing some basic information about  Human Design . Now, for those who don't know what human design is, please Google it because I can't describe it well honestly. I think about it as a system for self-knowing and exploration. Now I'm definitely a novice on the subject but I wouldn't be moving into my authentic self if I didn't share any new information that I'm learning with y'all. My post today is going to be more of an explanation of my own design rather than explaining the subject itself. Hopefully, I can inspire you to find your own design and research for yourself.  I n Human Design there are four energy types: reflectors projectors manifestors generators In the generator type, there's a subsection called manifesting generators. I just found out that Beyonce and Nicki Minaj are manifesting generators and so am I! I'll describe what this means later in the post. Beyond your energy type...

Live Like You Did at Six Years Old

Edit: Originally written 8/6/2019 Hello again family! I'm happy that you're here with me to share some of your time. A few days ago, I was in one of my moods (those days seem more frequent than usual. Damn retrograde). I was worrying about my financial situation so I decided to look up some people who were millionaires by the age 20. I came across some random website that listed a few of them with only one of them being someone famous or an entertainer. Here's the link if you want to check it out for yourself:  40 Young People Who Became Millionaires Before They Were 20 . As I'm going through the list right, I'm thinking to myself, "These people made money off of simple shit!" One girl used soda bottle tops to make locker decorations. Someone else made jam using his grandmother's recipe. And while yes, there were some extraordinary cases, most of them made their millions by doing pretty average things. Another thing I noticed was a lot of them had ...

The 3 Cs: Completion, Commitment, Consistency

What's going on family. It's your cousin Lex here again with another blog post. As usual, thank everyone for checking in, post after post to spend some time with your girl. Today I wanted to share what I feel is one of my biggest shortcomings with y'all. I'm not really a "finisher". Meaning I start but don't finish things. I can count on one hand the things that I've set out to do and actually completed. I used to crotchet all the time, I learned how to the second grade. I would buy yarn and needles every few months or so but never actually finished a project. It's so bad, I once started crocheting Heaven a pair of booties when she was a baby, but only made one shoe. I'm telling you I'm sick with it. And to me, it translates into laziness, which then makes me resent myself. Then I go into these downward spirals of self-loathing and disgust, which drains me and prevents me from actually finishing anything. Even with this blog thing, I ha...

Heading Back to Work

My favorite recent work fit Howdy family (since moving to Texas howdy has become my favorite greeting). Today is Saturday and I'm finally feeling well-rested after a week back to work. I know for many of us, Monday or Tuesday was our first day back to work in the last week or even longer. For me, it was two weeks of leave + two weeks of winter break, meaning I hadn't been to work in about a month, so the transition back to into the groove was difficult.  I've been hearing something similar from so many people in my life. My coworkers, my friends, my boo, hell me, have all been feeling this mental and physical lag in heading back to work. So much so it got me to thinking, in the shower where all my best thoughts come from, why are we all feeling this way?  The most apparent answer is we were off for some days, fell out of routine, changed our eating/lifestyle habits while we were home. All of these things are probably true. But to me, it was something deeper than just those ...

Happy New Year!

Hello, again family. Happy New Year to all! And it is Happy New Year and not New Years. Sorry just had to say it. As today is the first day of 2022, I thought what better way to bring it in than with a blog post (it's giving consistency). Today's post is just to give some words of encouragement as we begin this new year. This year I challenge myself (and y'all) to dismantle any fears or limitations about success that we have placed on ourselves. To start the year off right I want to share some quotes with you that I have written in my notebook. Before I do I want to give a little backstory on this notebook I've been mentioning.  I bought this notebook from Family Dollar in 2018. It cost me about $3, I think. On the front, there is a scripture printed. Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. I've adopted these words as my solace when I'...
