I Demand to be a D*mn Orange!

Hello family! Welcome back, I'm happy you're giving me some of your time today.
As you can probably tell, I'm pretty new to this blogging situation. So when I was thinking about what I want my blog and overall brand to convey, color schemes were at the top of my list of things to consider.

I don't think people think about how much influence color has over controlling emotion and perception. Marketing companies are strategic in their color choices and arrangement for this very reason. As a child, I was very interested in colors and I don't mean just crayons. I wanted to learn more about the composition and meaning behind the hues. I even had a book about it and in regular Lex fashion I shared what I learned with whoever would listen.

So that brings me to my topic here today of me DEMANDING to a d*mn orange! This is actually a funny quote from the movie Deliver Us From Eva (2003) that I have taken completely out of context. But I feel as passionately about being an orange as Darrell did. So through some thinking and discussing about what I wanted my brand to scream  (yes, scream) to people, I decided to create a color palette around the color orange. Now orange has been my favorite color for as long as I remember knowing colors. A mixture of passionate red and positive yellow, orange to me shows the world how I really am.

A possible color scheme for the Life With Lexis Kai brand

Some interpretations of the color orange include joy, warmth, heat, sunshine, enthusiasm, creativity, success, encouragement, change, determination, health, stimulation, happiness, fun, enjoyment, balance, sexuality, freedom, expression, and fascination, just to name a few. So it was a perfect color to describe me and be a part of my brand. Also, realizing that my brand is me and that it will only survive on my authenticity.

I hope today that you not only learned something new, but are inspired to go beyond the surface of what you know and who you are. Meaning and understanding can be found in all sorts of things it just takes someone who is willing to look.

P.S. I AM a damn ORANGE!

Introduction: Welcome to my Life

Well hello there. If you're reading this that means you made it to my blog and for that I want to say thank you so much! It also means that you are now my family, so it's nice to see meet you cousin! So after months and months of thinking about starting a blog, I've finally done it and I'm glad you're here to witness it. But first, let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Alexis Gant. I'm 20 years old from Jacksonville, Florida and am currently a junior at Florida State University double majoring in criminology and interdisciplinary social sciences with a concentration in sociology and anthropology (sounds like a lot but it's really not). I am a mother to two beautiful girls, Heaven and Malia. I'm pretty much a loner even though I live for social interaction (probably cause I'm on some different wavelengths). I am passionate about education and the criminal justice system and hope to one day become a defense attorney. I believe in love and s...

Winter Arc 2024: The Mommy Mogul Rebrand

Welcome back to the blog cousins! First, I want to offer you a scripture, Romans 12:2 "Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." I have a saying, "Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your reality." Maybe it's not my saying, but it's something that I say and shares the sentiment of Romans 12:2. You can change your life by changing your thoughts. That brings me to the topic of today's blog post. Where am I writing from you ask, my JOB, which I hope to only have for a week longer. What I told you last time, the best thing a job can do for me is what? OKAY! Our completed habit tracker Today, I want to share a challenge that my twin best friends and I are embarking on together. We saw it on TikTok and immediately hopped on the idea. Titled The Winter Arc , the challenge required each of us to pick three pillars where we wanted to create different habits. We then had to identify thr...

The Message of Amos 9:13: Change is Here

Welcome back, family! I'm so glad to be back writing for y'all. Forgive me in advance, because I admit, I feel a bit all over the place and writing always helps me ground myself.  So, this morning, I was following my regular routine. Wake and garden (iykyk), scroll on social media, pack lunches, and start my day hopefully in a positive direction.  I don't know if I told y'all, but I've been tapping into my spiritual gifts more, one of which is clairaudience. Let's hold onto that for a bit. Back to my morning routine, which needs major revision, but I digress. As I'm scrolling, I keep seeing Amos 9:13. I mean KEEP seeing it, from Twitter to TikTok. I saw about 3 videos, made on different dates, with the same message: "It's going to happen faster than you thought." I won't need months or even weeks. The change in my life I'm seeking is happening now. It's been happening for months - probably years.  Now, I don't claim to be holier...
